(1) After publication of the list of candidates in accordance with Rule 10, if any candidate wishes to withdraw his name in accordance with Section 23 of the Act, he shall give a written notice to the Election Officer in accordance with Schedule-7.
(2) If an application to withdraw the name of a candidate is received in accordance with sub-rule (1), the election officer shall remove the name of such candidate from the list of candidates if he finds it necessary to investigate the matter.
